[Yaesu] FT857D sensitivity on 70cm

I recently picked up a used FT857D which is working ok overall, but it seems kind of deaf compared to the Icom 706mKIIG it replaced when receiving the downlink on FM satellites. The QST reviews for the 2 radios also support that the 706 is more sensitive on FM (.16 vs .21 microvolts required for 12DB SINAD).

Has anyone tried increasing the sensitivity on 70cm through the alignment menu (the "hidden menu")?  If so, did it make much of a difference?  Did any other problems arise from doing this?
