The only FCC approval that would have been needed is if the receiver was capable of operation above 30 MHz and below 960 MHz. This per 47 CFR Part 15. Since amateur radio equipment is NOT certificated (new "buzz word" for "type accepted") by the FCC (the only exception is for external r.f. amplifiers capable of operation below 144 MHz) there will be no documentation available.

The FT-1000 is NOT certificated for any use in the area controlled by the FCC. Again, certificated equipment is NOT required for amateur radio use for transmitting and only the receiver has to be certified if commercially built for operation ABOVE 30 MHz and below 960 MHz. The one exception to this is for equipment manufactured for use in the 47 CFR Part 95 Subpart D ("CB") service. This per 47 CFR Part 15 Section 15.101(b).

Basically, the FT-1000 cannot legally be used for any transmitting on any frequency that certificated equipment is required in those areas controlled by the Federal Communications Commission.

The fellow says there is no FCC ID number on the rig.

Seems to me the specifications in a users manual should be more than adequate if he had a copy.

Also, try contacting the manufacturer for what you need:
