[Yaesu] Phone Jack in FT-980 and perhaps FT-1000

I have a Yaesu FT-980 that has one of the "so called" phone jacks that has
given me problems for awhile. I opened up the Yaesu and found that the
component has fallen apart.
This part is listed under receptacles in the Tech Supplement parts list as
symbol # J3, part # P1090134 and the description says SG7627 (phones). A
pictoral is on the exploded views. Its really a component type with plates
that connect with the stereo plug so that audio goes to the headphones and
thus cutting off the speaker,
Is the SG7627 a manufacturer part number? I am thinking of just using a
regular stereo jack to replace the component. The FT-980 was remade into
the FT-1000/1000D so am betting this rig uses the same component.
I found from past e-mail conversations this has been a problem with a number
of Yaesu rigs.
Thanks in advance.
