Hello all.......

I'd like to thank all that responded to my e-mail.
I've given all your suggestions attention and may have narrowed my problem
down.
It appears that while VX1-R and VX2-R were very nice, compact, and ground
breaking radios, they suffered from a few minor design flaws.
The radios' attributes far outweigh these minor flaws.
There was one resounding comment made by many. The stock antenna.
Once a more efficient, aftermarket antenna was substituted, the radios
responded quite nicely
I called one of the amateur radio equipment retailers and purchased a
Diamond Dual Band 15" antenna.
Hopefully, this "hearing aid" adjustment will help my probably not so "deaf"
VX2-R.
The antenna is probably heavier than the VX2-R!!!!
Thank you again, to all.
73!

Hello all......
Question.......
I have just acquired a Yaesu VX2-R.
I am familiarizing myself with all the functions of this unit.
I have a VX5-R, VX7-R also.
I have 5 very local repeaters to my qth.
Interestingly, the 5 and the 7 pick up the repeaters DFQ, "solid", full
scale !!!!!
The VX2-R is almost "deaf" to these very strong repeaters.
The s-meter does not even go 1/2 s-meter scale as it does on the other two.
Is there a function that attenuates the signal?
Has anyone else seen this? Is it due to the antenna supplied? Is there a
serial number series that was prone to this problem?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Tnx!
Pete
