..and then the Radio Inspector shows up at your door with a citation for
non-compliance with frequency-stability requirements, and for drifting
out-of-band.
(This actually happened to some Swan radio owners in another country in
which I was licensed.)

C'mon guys you have not experienced the true meaning of ham radio until you
have waltzed a vintage radio across the band...
Think of the possibilities......
True, unattended the VFO's tend to race across the band... With a little TLC
[ new caps, good tubes, etc, I find my vintage gear "fun" to operate.... ]
The new stuff is just too much like a TV set...Where the big challenge there
is trying to program the remote.....
Also have Swan 350, 500, lots of yaesu FT 101 and 401 gear....
Johnson Viking transmitter, and a Halicrafters receiver...
