Greg,
I don't have a 560 but downloaded the schematic and looked at it. The
external VFO jack definitely needs a plug and jumper when using the
internal VFO because DC power for the internal VFO comes from pin 4.
Question is, on what other pin is the DC?
Not pin 7, no connection.
Not pin 5, 6.3 VAC
Not pin 1, GND
Looks like it could be pin 3 which goes to a low voltage regulator
through the RX/TX EXT switch S6 and relay contacts on RL201. Try
measuring the voltage and see if it's reasonable, maybe 10-12 VDC.

Subject: [Yaesu] FTDX 560 transceiver question
Hi:
I cannot seem to make the internal vfo in my FTDX 560 hf transceiver to
operate. When I plug in the external vfo, the radio works fine.
There is no information in the manual about the vfo connector at the
rear of the radio.
Does anyone have the pin out to make the internal vfo work by itself?
Thanks
Greg
