[Yaesu] Yaesu FTDX 560 transceiver jumper plug question

Hi:

I wanted to put my FTDX 560 on the air today and noticed something odd.  The internal vfo is dead everywhere until I plug in the external vfo.  If I switch out the external vfo signals and turn on the internal vfo, then  the internal vfo begins to work.
So there's a jumper plug that needs to go into the back of the radio when the external vfo box is unplugged.  The manual is silent on this subject and I'm wondering if anyone has the documentation to correct the error.
