[Yaesu] unusual 80m problem-additional info

hmmm, what's the vswr curve like on ur antenna across 80?   does it go  
up as you go down in frequency?  What antenna is it?  How is it being  
fed (what type of feedline?)  How far away from ur shack is the  
feedpoint?
When it's only 50 watts out farther down the band, what's your ALC  
indicator doing?   Are you seeing a lot of ALC involvement when on the  
antenna but much less on the dummy load if you don't change anything  
and switch back and forth between the dummy and the antenna and speak  
into the mic?
