Hi Dan,
11 years is just the average sunspot cycle length. Some have been as short as 8 or 9 years from peak to peak, and others have been as long as 14 years before peaks. We might have hit one of the longer ones. Look on the bright side, it can't get any worse than it is now-and even better, Es (the main prop mode on 6m, the only band that really counts) isn't affected by the sunspot cycle!
