JOhn,
I find the FT 857 to be a bit on the hot side.
Even running 30 watts and sending CW at 25 WPM for 10 minutes the back is to
hot.
I had HI-Speed CFM fans on my FT 100-D and I had one fan run at 1/2 speed
full time
As soon as I keyed up both fans went full speed.
I find the 857-D rig fans do not put out enough CFM of air
The sad part is that it's a big job to replace the stock fans with hi speed
fans on the 857-D rig

Does the FT857D need a fan mod (like on the FT100D) to make the fans run all
of the time in order for it to stay cool? Or does it stay pretty cool with
the fans running how they do from the factory?
