[Yaesu] FT 77

The digital display in my Yaesu FT 77 does not show the correct frequency 
when I first turn the radio on. After 15 to 30 minutes of flashing various 
numerals it finally settles on the corret frequency. Even when it is 
flashing the radio tunes to the frequency I want as I can tune various nets 
and check in.

Repair shops tell me parts are not available, Does any one have used parts 
or suggestions for repair. Is there an external digital frequency display 
that could be used. The radio works fine iin all other ways,
