There's a button on my FT-7800R with a design like a Lissajous pattern 
on it. When I accidentally push it, I get exactly the same thing. The 
button activates/deactivates the Internet Connection Feature on the 
FT-7800R. 

The Internet Connection Feature is documented on P. 50 of your        
receiver's manual at www.rigpix.com and you push the left volume      
control to get to it.
