[Yaesu] FT-301AD frequency display incorrect

I have a 301AD that I recently bought at an auction. I discovered that the 
frequency displayed did not match the frequency transmitted when I 
transmitted AM and checked the transmitted signal with an external counter. 
The display read 5kc higher. On some bands it was 9-10 kc off. I used 
another rig and tuned to a local beacon transmitting on 28.280. I had to put 
the 301 display on 28.285 to hear it. Any help would be appreciated!
