I agree,
The FT-1000 is a remarkable radio.
I have one that is not a "D" model and it works great!
I'm not a ham but I enjoy SWL and this radio makes it vey enjoyable! The
receiver is great stock from the factory.
Mine was given to me by a wife of a ham that passed away. It was in mint
condition.
Being 45 years of age, I've had many receivers and transceivers in my time
and I've yet to have one with as good of a front end as this FT-1000!.
So go for it!
