[Yaesu] FR-101 Receiver

I picked up a nice FR-101 yesterday at Belton and I'm in the cleanup
process.  It's working fine but I have a couple of questions:
 
1.  The meter light seems very dim.  Normal?  How to replace?
 
2.  The bottom cover is fastened on with star washers under the screws.
Normal?
 
3.  Does anyone have any of the odd ball crystals?
 
4.  Other issues to consider?
