Hello Scott and others

The same thing can be said for the FT-847's predecessor That great old
FT-767GX. It was a one of a kind radio a very good HF radio that you
could add in 6, 2 and .7 meters in a full size radio that is a true Base
Station radio AC operated with built in tuner and power supply. Yaesu
has had their serial number format the same for many years. My 767GX was
made in 1986 having all those bands was a brave venture into a new world
back then. I really like that radio a lot. It is the only radio made
that includes all those bands that hasn't got all the menus to set
things up. I hope Yaesu will someday bring out a FT-867D a up to date
modern remake of that remarkable and wonderful FT-767GX with the newer
generation Synthesizer. The performace limiting factor of all older
radios was the pre DDS Synthesizers. The FT-767GX is a overlooked Yaesu
Classic.
