NO NEED to be that drastic, and kill the resale value of your radio.
Instead, just find a cupla feet of small coax, like RG174 or RG178 (teflon
stuff), connect it to the desired point within the radio, then fish it
through a vent hole or slot, and put a connector on the end. Have done that
with every radio I've had except a HTX100, which had no vent holes
whatsoever ;o((((((((
