Most battery stores will replace the cells for a nominal charge; I
had this done with my VX-150 battery packs for considerably less than
anyone wanted for new battery packs. With NiMH cells, you'll want to
take advice from the cell manufacturer on charging parameters. My
NiMH/NiCd charger has a thermal sensor to stop things if an NiMH pack
gets too warm while charging.
