[Yaesu] Deleting Memory Channels from FT-1500M?

There is no way to delete a memory.

I find that about the only annoying
feature on my FT1500M.

You can only write over a memory. That
is an easier task if you turn on the [CH NUM]
feature as detailed on page 39, so you know
where you are at and which memory you want
to write over.

Another option is to lockout those channels in
scan mode.

Are you sure when you are changing the PL, that
you are in VFO mode and following the directions
for storing a memory found on page 23 of the
operation manual?

The only way to delete a memory is delete them all
with a microprocessor master reset as outlined on
page 36 of the manual.

Good Luck.

Subject: [Yaesu] Deleting Memory Channels from FT-1500M?

For some reason my FT-1500M keeps reverting to a previous PL on our
local repeater that has changed PLs twice in the last year. I can
change the PL according to the manual, but the next time I turn on
the radio, or if I switch to another channel then back to local
repeater the PL is back to the previous one. For some reason I also
have about a half-a-dozen "copies" of the local repeater in different
channels. Some are PLed at an old PL (131.8) and some at more recent
PL (100.0) that has again been changed to 94.8. I've tried changing
the PL in each of them, but they always revert back to whatever was
there before. I'm thinking that I need to delete the unnecessary
channels. However, I can't find any instruction in the manual on how
to do that. Maybe I need to do a hard reset and start all
over. Before I do that though, does someone know how to delete a
channel on this radio?
