Hi Bud,
My "Reply" to your message bounced.
Here it is again:
Thanks for responding to my message.
I am definitely not a "solid state" technician". Licensed both Ham and
Commercial Rediotelegraph since 1938, and at the ripe old age of 89,
I am in no mood to try to learn solid state!
One very important thing I want done to my FT-840 is to bring out the
ground end of the AGC circuit to a connection on the back apron of the
chassis. A RCA Phono Connector should do. Use very small co-ax.
That is, unground the AGC circuit and bring it out to the connector.
I want to use the best full break-in system possible which I have used
with a boatanchor set-up back in the 1950's.
I have looked inside the FT-840 but can't recognize the circuits well
enough to tell what-is-what!
What do you recommend for shipping? UPS, Fed-X or USPS?
Take care,
Ken N5CM
