[Yaesu] Yaesu FT990 opinions wanted

So no one ever worked on one without a "module extender"?
I doubt that, I just tack solder 1,2 or 3 short wires to the test
points that I am curious about and plug 'er back in and turn it on,
just like every other thing that I fixed with out an 'extender.
