This is a little off-topic, because most Yaesu radios are two-way radios, not
scanners. But it depends on the brand scanner. Some of them imitate the thread
size used by Motorola for some of their radios, and some are a really oddball
thread, maybe metric, or maybe just some odd thread that the mfgr. came up with.
Since you know which brand and model radio you have, I would suggest that you
join a scanner group, such as one that we have here on qth.net, called
http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/scanner and ask there. There's also a couple
of area-specific scanner lists here, one for Indiana and one for the DC / Baltimore
areas. Also there's one for the RS Pro 2006 as well as one for Radio Shack. Go to
