Of course, it was type-accepted under FCC Part 90. <g>

In the movie "The Russia House", there was a nice-looking Harris HF
transceiver, with a keypad and red LED display, inside the MI5 trailer
parked outside the psychiatric hospital where the KGB were holding the
missile scientist. It had a crude long-wire antenna connected to its ATU
output. The film-makers were reasonably close on that one.
