Tough call at $600 or less. Yaesu, tough call. Maybe a 757 or 890? Kenwood, 
TS 930. Icom, 745 or 751. Ten Tec, the older Omni's were not bad radios. I 
had an Omni D that I thought was decent for $400 I paid for it.

John, you made this tough on us :-) $800 or less, it would be easier for 
"contest caliber" rigs.
