[Yaesu] 6 meters in the FT857D/897D

Have the 6 meter problems found in the original 857/897 (terrible sounding audio on 6) been fixed in the D models?  I have been looking at these radios as a possible base/mobile rig to use, but I need something that is going to work great on 6 since that is my favorite band.  The one FT857 I had before sounded terrible on 6, and I see from earlier messages in the archives, I wasn't alone with this problem.
