John

The FT-301 (analogue dial) and FT-301D (digital display) are the world's
first all solid state, 100W HF ham radio transceivers and were released in
October 1977.

The FT-301S and FT-301SD are 10W versions sold on the Japanese market to
comply with their regulations.

The other radios were released as follows:

FT-7 10W = 1979
FT-7B 50W = March 1980
FT-107 = April 1981
FT-707 = June 1981
FT-One = August 1983
FT-77 = November 1983

Subject: [Yaesu] Yaesu history question

What was the first all solid state HF rig made by Yaesu? I am guessing that
it was either the FT7B or FT301, although those were before my time
licensewise. When I first got licensed, the FT107 and FT707 were Yaesu's
solid state rigs, followed quickly afterwards by the FT77 and FT1.
