[Yaesu] FT-8800/FT-8900R CWID X-Band Repeat

Ok, here is the current project.  I want to add CWID to the crossband repeat function of these radios.  It would have been nice had Yaesu thought of this since the radio is capable of sending a CWID while in ARTS mode, but alas the engineer's spaced out on this one.

Here is what i found out so far, connecting a CWID'er to the rear packet jack works great, but when you put the radio in crossband repeat mode it disables all external PTT and audio inputs so both the rear packet jack and the mic connection are useless for input of the id audio.

Looking at the included schematics Q1070 seems to be the culprit, it switches the audio chain around when put into crossband repeat mode.  However without a service manual to detail the component locations it's nearly impossible to do any modifications inside since only the bare essentials are labeled in there.  Anyone got some ideas on this?

It would be nice to have the rear PTT working as well, but at least if the audio input remained functional while in crossband repeat the id'er would be able to send while the radio is transmitting.
