[Yaesu] Two Questions Re: Reception

Good Morning! 
    These questions are regarding a Yaesu  MP/V/field.
 
1) Signals seem to fade down (almost as though the RF gain were being  turned 
down) after the radio has been running for a while. This also occurs when  
there is a loud adjacent signal.
 
2) Sub VFO B has a lack of defined signal (a swimming sound) as  if the 
stations were transmitting in the opposite sideband.
 
    Thanks for your assistnce. I hope these are only  require correction 
through the menu options.
