[Yaesu] FT-101ZD question

Have a couple of questions to the Yaesu group:
I took down one of my 101ZD's to check out prior 
to putting it on the FS blocks, and everything seems
super - the reception is great - EU blasting in on 40M
and output is good.  Only thing is the digital - and 
according to the service manual one of the poss
causes is the VFO info not connect or it is grounded.
I guess it is poss that a component could go bad
sitting on the shelf - but?  Anyone had this on their
ZD?  
I also would like to know where I could get a power
cord, or the plug for the xcvr to I can make one up -
seems gremlins ran off with it.  Have the one that
is on my other ZD, but if I sell this one would like
to have the pwr cord for it.
Any ideas/leads?
