Hi, John.

Your question, as written, doesn't really parse, since 2m and 70cm 
_are_ VHF and UHF, and hence are limited to them. Would more coffee
help? 

If you're asking about operating modes, I do 2m CW and SSB as well as
2m FM on my 857. I haven't tried 70cm on it since I don't have a 
suitable outdoor antenna for 70cm at the moment, but will use CW and 
SSB as well as FM when I can transmit on 70cm.
