'70's Kenwood TS-700SP (2Meter All Mode) certainly does a better
job than my Ft100d. It is an on/off w/no level or width control and is
remarkable in its ability to cut most kinds of noise without the
distortion of the FT 100's NB. Some of the Icom 745's were
adjustable and
quite good also. The FT 1000mp, I find can be adjusted to cancel one
type of noise at a time but is touchy and requires constant
adjustments.
Some of the newer digital stuff is reputed to work well, but I would
not buy until I try in my own shack. Most reviews are advertising
driven or not the same conditions as you own shack.

I have found the NB in my Icom 761 works better than any newer (or older)
radio in my collection.
