Yaesu FT100D

Problem:

HF -- CW -- Xmit OK on HF bands good SWR & output --
NO Rcvr -- S Meter reads +60db, rcvr as if in MUTE or
Squelch set
(which it is not)

VHF -- rcvr OK on comm'l FM

VHF -- rcvr OK on 2 Meter Repeaters BUT rig must be
set in WFM 100 mode do decode FM repeater Xmissions.
If I xmit in standard 5 kHz mode, repeater and ops can
hear me BUT I cannot hear them unless I switch the
rcvr to WFM.

on VHF it's possible to make QSO's by doing a manual
split, in other words, VFO A in WFM mode is set to
repeater out freq
and VFO B is set to repeater input freq (600 kHz
offset) in FM 5kHz mode. All report a good solid
signal.

HISTORY: I discovered the FM problem (WFM) only in
the past few hours. Usually only operate on CW. I
remembered a
very thin bright green wire that had become
disconnected (a year ago?) when installing the 300 Hz
CW filter. This wire bridges
the two boards (top view) and becomes a bit of a
problem when installing the CW-N filter. I attempted
to reconnect this wire (many months ago) and
did not experience any problems and operated
successfully on CW for many months.

Today, I thought that perhaps the WFM/FM issue (above)
was related to the green wire. So I went
into the radio to try to reconnect the wire. After
this escapade, I experienced the problems described
above.

Anyone that has gone into the small reaches of these
modern radios, knows the difficulties of trying to fix
anything.

Suggestions appreciated and if no solutions, please
give recommendations of COMPETENT repair personnel.

Thanks Greg W2BEE
