[Yaesu] FT-2000 & Pcc-2000-E & CAT

As a new owner of a Yaesu FT-2000 I am quite enthralled with
my new radio.

As in most of my endeavors, I thrive to test out all the bells
and whistles of my new toy.

I have come up against a problem that I would like to find out
if anyone else has.  

I downloaded the Pcc-2000-E program to run on my windows pc.
I am unable to get the program talking with my radio.  I have
tried serial cable direct and a usb-serial cable both without
any success.

Has anyone had any success with talking to the radio?  I even 
tried using (shudder!) hyper-term.

There are some problems that I am also having with the Pcc-2000-E 
program.

Sizing - I cannot change it and the window is much larger
than the graphic of the radio.

Settings - when I click on either the COMM port all the selections
are overlapped with each other.  Same with BAUD.

Selecting - when I click on a selection, I don't get a pop-up until
I click on the image or window.


Any help/suggestions?
