[Yaesu] FT1000MP and INRAD roofing filters

I just bought a used FT1000MP today.  Hope it will be delivered friday so I have the weekend to play with it, and am really looking forward to it.  It looks like a top of the line HF rig.

Does the INRAD roofing filter really increase the receive performance of this rig?  The reviews I have read from QST and Radcomm seem to indicate so, but would like to hear some actual experiences with it.
