[Yaesu] SSB filters for FT-897D

Hi Ken,

The internal filters are inside the AGC loop, whilst the DSP is post-AGC.
This means that the internal filters will eliminate strong out-of-band
signals before they can develop AGC voltage and "pump" or "swamp" the AGC.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [Yaesu] SSB filters for FT-897D

Hello all, I am fairly new to the HF world, so be gentle. What advantage do
the SSB filters available for the FT-897D offer as opposed to the internal
DSP? I am assuming a "tighter" bandpass to eliminate nearby stations?

Thanks,
Ken, KC9GLQ
