Dear Yaesu/Inrad-friends,

In the second RX of the Yaesu FT-1000(D) and the FT-1000MP (Mark-V/Field)
you will find a Murata 455 kHz ceramic filter. This will be the Murata
CFJ455K '15', '13' or '5' filter. Perhaps another type, but most of them
have a bandwidth of about 2400 Hz with slopes like a pancake.

It may be a good suggestion to de-solder this Murata filter and use the
Inrad 1800, 2100 or 2800 Hz crystal filter instead. You will need two thin
coaxial cables for it.

I did this in the FT-1000(D) with very good results.

Two picture with an instruction you will find at:
www.remeeus.nl/english/hamradio/ft1000subrxfiltering.htm

Good luck!
