[Yaesu] FT-7800R volume question

When I crank up the volume on my FT-7800R dual band
rig, the top 50 - 60 percent of the knob turn results
in NO further increase in volume. In other words,
maximum volume peaks at 40 - 50% of turning the knob.

Is this normal not to have a linear control? (There is
plenty of volume.)
