[Yaesu] Intermod on VX7R

Has anyone else noticed a great deal of intermod on their VX7R when doing dual receive with the main receiver on broadcast FM (88-108mhz) and the subreceiver on 70cm (430-450mhz)?  I wonder if that is the nature of the VX7R, or if there is something wrong with mine.  I finally got around it by using tone encode on the 70cm frequency, since I use 70cm mainly for crossband repeat with my TS2000, but if I was trying to use it for repeaters it might be frustrating.
