I don't have a FT-51, I have a FT-50 and a VX-5R, both of which use the
SMA antenna mount. But, a fairly decent antenna would be the Maldol MH-209
2m/440 antenna, carried by a variety of vendors. The 209 comes in both BNC
and SMA mounts, and retails for US$24 plus s/h. One vendor can be found at
http://www.sarrio.com/sarrio/htant.html but you can always Google for them at
http://www.google.com/ and put in "Maldol antenna".
