[Yaesu] FT- 857D 6M distortion problem?

Do you mean 6 meter distortion or 6 meter oscillation? SSB distortion on 6m
is curable with a mic gain adustment. The oscillation issue was discussed in
a 2004 Yaesu service bulletin, so I'd guess that it's been addressed with
later production models, since I have a Oct 2004 FT-857D and I've never
noticed either problem. I think the odds of your getting a properly
functioning FT-857D are pretty good, although the best place to ask might be
the FT-857 group on Yahoo.
