[Yaesu] VX2R no receive audio

Yes--no audio. Sometimes I hear a faint "click" like the squelch trying to
open, but that all and that's when I have another HT in my other hand (VX5R
or VX7R)

Stupid me--I should have had the VX7R with me--it will be from now on when I
head out hunting, fishing, skiing or dirt bike riding!

  Ouch, that's a shame.

If you're technically savvy, you could probably replace it yourself. It
will
probably take a bit off effort, if the 2 is like the 5 (which I've taken
apart
a couple of times, both to replace various rubber parts like the keypad and
the power/mike cover. If I recall corrctly, once you open it up, the speaker
is very easy to get to. Oh, wait a minute, you said the earphone is dead,
too? Eiewww, now I'm in unchartered waters. I don't know.

You sure there's no audio from any source? I just find it hard to believe
that condensation could short out the audio amp, because usually
condensation
is pretty pure water, with no conduction...
