Hallo Bob
Its me again.
Sorry for not writing earlier but I been a bit busy lately.
Last night I connected my Motorola external speaker to the radio and audio from that speaker is excellent so it lead me to believe that the internal speaker is broken. The audio from internal speaker is badly distorted while sound clean from external speaker.
So what is the procedure now? Can I remove off the internal speaker and return it to Yaesu with request of new speaker? The radio is under warranty.
We have authorized dealer here in Toronto but to replace speaker is such a simple task that I can do it myself. I should also mention that radio was bought from AES in Cleveland, OH just before Christmas. Is the warranty for North America or is it only for the country the radio was bought in?

Before you do either, a little more troubleshooting is needed. When the internal speaker audio becomes distorted, have you, at that point, attached an EXTERNAL SPEAKER (Not headphones) to determine whether the audio is good on a different speaker? Also, and this is important, what, if any, items do/did you have connected to the radio when the distortion occurs? (sound card/computer interface, speaker, mike, key, packet/rtty interface, etc)-let me know the DETAILS and I will attempt to assist. (Send a TELEPHONE number, and I will call you, to expedite solving the problem.)--73, KC3VO, Bob Curry-(I work with YAESU at DAYTON, and assist in fixing problems)
