[Yaesu] FT-980 Key Klix...!

Good Morning All,

I am new to this group (only just joined yesterday!), so please excuse me if it appears that I'm trying to rejuvenate an old thread...

I have a Yaesu FT-980, and I've been told by some folks that it tends to be a tad "heavy" in the matter of key clicks when transmitting CW. Has anyone else ever encountered this condition with their '980, and if so, what type of modification(s) were executed to remedy it...?

There are PLENTY of references to eliminate key clicks on rigs like the FT-1000MP on the internet, but ZERO on the FT-980...this latter transceiver seems to be a VERY rare bird, indeed, in Amateur circles to-day, and I don't know why...apart from the clicking, it is first-rate in most every respect...
