Is there a way to enable sidetone on a VX-5R?

By sidetone, I mean the ability to hear in the headset speakers what
is being transmitted?

This is usually accomplished by feeding to the headset speakers a
portion of the signal provided to the modulator.  The portion is
usually fixed at at a level not loud enough to cause feedback through
the headset microphone, yet loud enough that one quickly learns the
correct level for an adequately modulated and not clipped transmission.

Is there a better term for this feature in amateur radio?
