[Yaesu] display flashing on FT-1000 Field

    I have a friend with a Yaesu FT-1000 Fields that has quit 
receiving.........no receive audio.  The main vfo is constantly flashing 
but the "B" vfo appears normal.  Is there a reset procedure to cure this 
or is there something else wrong with the radio?
