[Yaesu] FT1000MP and the MicroHam Microkeyer

Got the new keyer Monday, initially had some trouble getting things to
work when I realized that the 12Vdc fuse had blown several years ago and
I never bother to replace it since it is a pain in the butt to so, well
I did it and now I have the keyer talking to the rig. However I have
some questions for the group? (FT1000MP Questions)

Per the instructions the pre-made cables use the low level output from
the AF out jack on the back of the FT1000MP, the standard sound card
installation recommended uses the line in for the rig audio to the
computer, Looks to me that the line in then has to be switched to the
mic in on the sound card, correct? Then it appears that the mic out
from the keyer is useless or am I missing something? There is enough
audio available at remote speaker jack to use the line-in but then the
internal speaker is muted and one would need to rely on the computer
speakers if I can figure what function on the sound card sliders I would
use, How are you other FT1000MP users doing it?
