While I am not familiar with this specific rig, since everything else seems
to work, I suspect that the problem is alignment in the transmitter section.
Frequently, several transmitter circuits also are in the receiver section so
an alignment may improve the performance of the receiver too.
As to the FM audio, most rigs do not modulate with "real" FM, but use phase
modulation to create the FM. This generally is a separate circuit from the
normal audio chain. I would check that circuit. You probably will need an
oscilloscope.

Subject: [Yaesu] FT-757GX with issues
I have acquired a FT-757GX and it has a couple of problems. First off, I do
not have the service manual so if anyone has a copy please let me know.
The output is not consistance from band to band. Ranges from about 40W on
160m to 100+W on 15m and 17m. 10m is also low.
So it appears the PA is working. There does not appear to be a band to band
adjustment so this is where the service manual is needed.
The other issue is that there is no audio out on FM mode. The reciever is
in fact working as shown by the s-meter but no audio. Audio is good on all
other modes.
Any insight to where to look is greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Rob - W3RG
