Hi John
The screw thread is M4 and should not be longer than 6mm, otherwise you can
damage internal components. However, I fixed a lug to my earth cable and
insert the lug under one of the fan screws at the back.

Subject: [FT100] FT100 mounting screws
I recently picked up a FT100D for base station use,
and didn't get the mobile mount with it. I know that
grounding the rig is accomplished through using one of
the mobile mount screws and the screw hole on the side
of the rig. Did this for a FT100D I had before and it
worked great. I don't have any of these screws,
though. Does anyone know the size of these screws so
I can go get 1 at the hardware store? Might look kind
of funny carrying a FT100D into Lowes or Home Depot.
