[Yaesu] receiving problem

Hello all,

I wonder if I am the only one having this problem with my TH-F7 
handheld.

Receiving on the subband is only possible from 0.100 - 1.71 Mhz.
with the supplied antenna. Above these frequencies my dealer said 
that I need an external antenna. (so from 1.8 - 54 MHZ)

don't know about the frequencies above 520 MHz cause i never 
heard something there. VHF/UHF amateur bands are ok.
