[Yaesu] re FL-7000 amp protection desense mod

HI Fren,

I've carried out this mode and while it does work I have noticed
the same problem.

As I think you might be aware step 3 in the instructions from Yaesu for
adjusting the Protector Unit state "Set the ALC pot fully counter
clockwise."

If I read this correctly this would have the effect of turning the ALC
line off. Perhaps the reason that you are then not seeing any ALC
indication? At the time this troubled me quite a lot as I would have thought
ALC was the amps first line of defence. I have re-adjusted the ALC level on
mine as per the instructions in the handbook however I am still not very
happy with the idea.

I did speak to Yaesu UK service department but they didn't seem to know
much about it unfortunately.
